What this site knows about Grok

Less than it knows about the others, and this entry keeps to that. This site’s published probe of 9,240 businesses used Claude; no figure from it says anything about Grok, and none is offered. This page also does not cite xAI’s own crawler or product documentation, so it makes no claim about which user-agent token Grok sends when it fetches a page, how its retrieval is configured, or what robots.txt directive would opt a site out. Those are the vendor’s facts to state, and they change.

What does transfer is the mechanism that is the same for every assistant with retrieval. A page has to be reachable by whatever fetches it, and RFC 9309 says a crawler that honors robots.txt reads the group for its own product token, so a rule written for one vendor’s bot says nothing to another’s. The page has to contain a passage that answers the question in one place. And the business has to be identifiable, with one name, address and phone number repeated the same way. A site that clears those three for Claude, the assistant this site has measured, has cleared them for Grok as well; whether Grok then names the business is a thing to measure, and the methodology page says how a measurement like that is run.
